This winch is used for towing the Triaxus undulating vehicle . The winch can be installed on the main deck just forward of the crane for cruises that require the Triaxus (not permanently installed on ship). The wire is .393 fiber optic. The winch has a slip-ring assembly installed. The wire leads directly aft through a block hanging from the A-Frame for deployments and recoveries of the Triaxus, directly off the stern.
